Since I have been in desperate need of new bed linens, I decided to take a gander over at Overstock, and found this AMAZING retro bedding ensemble that I am TOTALLY stoked about!!! :o) and...(drum roll please...) HERE IT IS!:
Cute? I KNOW! :o) My problem now, is that I dont know what color to paint my room....Right now it is this AMAZING bright pink color...(Since I am living with my dad at the moment, until I get my bearings on things, this is what I was stuck with...my paint of choice, um...? 5 years ago!?) So I figured I would grow my room up a little bit! :) Mature it a little..if you will. I am stuck on that awesome goldish yellow color, or maybe a darker beige color!? a shade or two lighter then the brown mocha-ish color in the bedding....any suggestions!?
Now, on to the stupidity that is my brain....I was soo excited about making this purchase that I forgot to change the size of my new FABULOUS bedding to fit my Queen-sized bed...and ordered a CALIFORNIA FLIPPIN KING! :( So...I "live chatted" with a rep from Overstock, today as a matter of fact, and she told me that once I receive it (which hopefully should be today or tomorrow!) that I have to return it...get a refund and then "RE-ORDER it in the right size...IF AVAILABLE"! Once I get it, if it's not completely wrapped up and I can still get into it to pull out a pillow sham, I am going to Home Depot to pick out my new wall color and will be painting this weekend! :o) I am very excited for this change..to have a "big girl" room...instead of looking at all of my crap from High school! :) (Which will go somewhere in my bathroom I think!?) Big girl bed room with a little girl bathroom..sounds good to me! haha Anywho..help a sista out with the wall color..I think I am leaning more towards the goldish-yellowish!?.........
LURVE IT! I'd pick out the yellow for the walls.. or... if you are feeling daring.. the GREY! Choose a light shade of it though... very trendy right now.

ReplyDeleteI like the yellow as well, but not a bright yellow...like a dingy yellow for warmth. Also, we have a queen bed and ordered a king, because it isn't long enough on the sides so the king might work out perfectly. Out bed is also raised up pretty high so that is another reason we wanted a king. If you do a brown will it clash with your funiture in the room? Make sure the color you pick will be good for your biggest peices. Also, you could do canvas paintings (cheap and cute) and use the colors of your bedspread for art peices for that "grown up" look.

ReplyDeleteBrittany! You are my new BFF! haha The dingy yellow is what I am thinking...my furniture is dark brown...so the yellow would be perfect I think..and thanks for the canvas idea! I have some up in my room right..my initials and such..but will do something artsy and cute to match the bedding! I wouldnt have minded if I accidentally ordered a King..I have a big bed too...but I ordered the california king..and those are HUMONGOUS! haha it would be draping down the side and across the floor! haha
