I have just registered to walk in the 8th Annual Walk-of Life! As a member of Zeta Tau Alpha, our philanthropy is Breast Cancer Awareness and Education. With that we have volunteered in numerous charity events raising money for BCAE, in those include the Walk of Life! I have always wanted to walk in something like this and figured what better time than now!? I learned recently that one of my friend's aunt has just been diagnosed with Breast Cancer.."not the good kind". I also have an old friend whoes mother had it and survived! So while I was filling out my registraion form, there was a question on there that asked if I wanted to run/walk in memory or in honor of anyone..soo I put their names on there! That just gave me even more motivation to do this! :o) To know that I was doing this FOR someone, not just for the "heck of it"!
SO! I urge you to join me in the race! I am so excited about this. It takes place on April 18th..thats NEXT SATURDAY. Registration begins at 7:00 am and the race starts at 8:30 am! It's going to be a day full of family fun! Even includes a "Might Kid's Dash" that begins at 9:45!
Check out the Race Route Map! It looks like a long trek, but there's really no distance too far when you are walking/running for a cause!
